January 19, 2012 -- The National Bird-Feeding Society (www.birdfeeding.org) is proud to announce the annual celebration of National Bird-Feeding Month from February 1 - February 29, 2012.
This national event was created in 1994 by a United States' Congressional Resolution (http://www.birdfeeding.org/nbfm/history-of-national-bird-feeding-month.html) proclaiming February as a timely opportunity to promote and publicize our wild bird feeding and watching hobby.
Each February, the Society introduces and promotes a new and unique theme. Our theme for 2012 is "If You Feed Them, They Will Come..." as highlighted in this year's graphic.
Although February is the "official month" for National Bird-Feeding Month events, many organizations and wild bird enthusiasts often select other months which better fit local community schedules, business events, school calendars and even weather considerations.
So any month is a good month to promote and launch your own National Bird-Feeding Month event - remember - "If You Feed Them, They Will Come..."!
